On Thursday, avant-garde musician Hermann Cohen will take the stage at the 2017 Grammy Awards to perform his new track, “The Best.”
Cohen has been working on the song for nearly a year, writing and producing the piece with longtime collaborator Nick Offerman.
The song will be released on April 25.
“I’m not a musician.
I’m not an actor.
I just like to write songs,” Cohen told NPR.
“I want to make a song that people want to listen to, to play.
I want to get people to think about music and think about art in a different way.”
The video for “The Most Important Song in the World” is about a person who gets to the top of the world by making a song.
It’s a story of overcoming adversity, overcoming fear and overcoming the urge to do something you’re not passionate about, Cohen said.
It was a year-long process for Cohen, who has been making music for nearly 20 years.
He’s written music for many people, including celebrities like Kanye West, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez.
“We wrote the song at a certain point, but we weren’t able to finish it, because we were working on it so hard and it wasn’t like we were in a hurry,” Cohen said in a phone interview from New York City.
The song features some of the biggest names in the avant garde, including Offerman, whose credits include “The Phantom,” “Temptation” and “The Perfect Drug.”
Cohen said he had to create an entire new song for this new album.
“It was such a hard song to write, it had to be something really special and really big,” he said.
“It was so huge, it was like a monster.”
“I hope you’ll like it,” he added.
“The Most Importance of Being Earnest” is the title track from the album.
