The father of a woman who was fatally stabbed in Chicago in November said he is still haunted by the events of that night.
David Osborne was in a car with his daughter when he and her boyfriend, Jacob Muhlenberg, got into an argument with another man who was also in the car.
They pulled into the driveway of a home near Lincoln and Washington avenues and were arrested, said the father of the slain woman.
“It’s still there,” David Osborne told reporters Thursday.
“There’s still that fear.
It’s still the same pain, the same sadness, the exact same feeling.”
He said he was angry that Muhlberg would “get away with this.”
“That’s just sad,” he said.
“We all know that Jacob would not have done that.”
David Osbourne, who has lived in the Chicago area for almost 20 years, said he has never spoken publicly about the incident.
But he said he still suffers from PTSD.
“The pain is just still there, the emotions are still there that you can’t shake,” he told reporters.
“I don’t want to get too close to it.
I just don’t.”
Osborne said Muhlinberg is the son of a police officer who served in the Army.
He said the officers relationship with him has not changed since the incident, and he doesn’t want his son to suffer.
“They’re very close.
He was raised by them, and I’ve always felt that,” Osbourne said.”
Jacob is the only son in the family.”
He added that his son has never talked about the case.
“He hasn’t spoken to anybody about it.
He hasn’t done anything.
He’s just had this silence and silence and then he was murdered.
I can’t believe he’s gone,” he added.”
When he was killed, he was just my son.”
Police said they believe Muhler was armed with a knife when he confronted the two men outside the home.
The victim, whose name was not released, was shot multiple times.
Police said he had been shot by Muhlers son and the son’s friend who were standing nearby.
“In the moments before the shooting, the victim and the victim’s friend were not aware of the situation,” the Chicago Police Department said in a statement.
The police said Mohlinberg was driving a dark-colored vehicle.
He is being held without bail.
The shooting comes amid a spike in violence around the country.
In the U.S., a man killed a man in Kansas City, Missouri, who was found dead in his apartment, and police say a man was killed in New York City.
Earlier this week, an Illinois man who police said was armed and dangerous was shot and killed in Chicago, and three other people were wounded in shootings in Florida, Texas and Louisiana.
